I believe this so much, don’t overthink a big project, take baby steps to get to the finish line. Not everything needs to be done in a hurry.
“Lead from the heart, not the head.” -Princess Diana
This is so true when you lead with your heart and not your head. Your life will have much more meaning. You will be searching your soul for the right answer, not what you think you must do.
“Don’t give it five minutes if you’re not going to give it five years.” -Meghan Markle
This one would be for if you are going to start something new, like a new hobby or perhaps you want to start a blog. If you don’t think you will invest five years in growing it, then pass it up. But sometimes it’s the journey to where you need to be. So give it your all, to any new hobby you decide to go after.
“Every day is not a success. Every year is not a success. You have to celebrate the good.” -Reese Witherspoon
Absolutely! Like I said before, life is a journey. Be in the now and celebrate the good things, let go of the bad.
“To succeed in life, you need three things: a wishbone, a backbone, and a funny bone.” -Reba McEntire
I love Reba! I agree with this 100%, every night before bed me and my husband watch a funny show so we are always laughing before we go to sleep. It’s a nice way to end the day.
“The biggest adventure you can take is to live the life of your dreams.” -Oprah Winfrey
I’ve always admired Oprah, go after those dreams. Even if it’s baby steps.
“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’” -Martin Luther King, Jr.
Life is a give and take, we should be mindful of paying it forward and to be good people when others are down. Maybe even paying for food in the car behind you at the fast-food drive-through. This happened to my husband the other day.
“I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life and that is why I succeed.” -Michael Jordan
This is my secret to success, try and try and try. Never Give UP, you’ll be a success at everything. Just some things don’t work out.
“It’s not what we have in life but who we have in our life that matters.” -Margaret Laurence
I agree again, we all need love and laughter, and we need to be with someone, even if it’s a pet.
“Embrace the glorious mess that you are.” -Elizabeth Gilbert
I think she was just in my house! I live in a glorious cluster of stuff, it gets shuffled in and out. But it’s an ongoing thing because I sell on eBay. My kitchen table is seldom cleaned off all the way. Glad I have a big one. Lol!
“Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.” -Dr. Seuss
I’m in love with this quote! And being a mother that has lost her son, I’ve always cherished every moment. Look up from that phone and talk to your family. It might be the last conversation you have. Look out the window when you are in the car with your family. Be present when they are present.
“Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.” -Carol Burnett
I say this all the time. Maybe I remember her saying this on her show one time but it’s stuck with me. We get tricked into believing that our loved ones are responsible for our happiness. No, they can’t read your mind. If you want to change your life, then get off the couch and do it yourself. I’m always disappointed during holidays, we don’t do much. So this year I’m making a change and celebrating the holidays by planning events we can go to. No one else is going to do it, now I won’t be disappointed anymore.
“You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.” -C.S. Lewis
This is an awesome quote! It’s never too late! Did you know that Angela Lansbury started Murder she wrote at 59 years old?
“The best thing to hold onto in life is each other.” -Audrey Hepburn
We all need a hug, don’t forget to give them freely. Sometimes life gets in the way. But family is family we sometimes don’t agree. But we can still give them a hug. They know you better than anyone.
“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.” -Albert Einstein
Sadly both of my parents forgot this message and stopped moving. My dad moves from his bedroom to a chair each day. My mom is in a hospital bed after a bad bought with the flu and she never got back up again. Keep moving!
Get a new hobby. I bought angora rabbits so I would have to go outside each day and care for them. Then each month I have to cut their hair, then I can make a glorious warm scarf with the fur once it’s been spun into yarn. I’m working on the spinning part and the bunnies are so cute and friendly. The love a pet each day from me. That’s keeping me moving.
“The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.” -William Shakespeare
Wow, that’s powerful! I think my gift is to be encouraging. I’m pretty good at it and I give it away freely. If you need encouragement send me a message.
“The key to being happy is knowing you have the power to choose what to accept and what to let go.” -Dodinsky
Absolutely. I gave up watching the news at night years ago. It really helps! They stopped talking about the good things in life. Guess that’s not what sells anymore. I would rather be happy.
