7 Pumpkin Recipes For Fall

Fall is my favorite time of the year, I look forward to it every year! The crisp air outside, the weather getting cool enough to wear a sweater, and the birds are flocking together here in Southern Indiana. The trees are turning from green to bright red and orange. The smell of firewood burning from the chimney tops. I’m in heaven. I thought I would put together some great Pumpkin Recipes to Celebrate Fall this year.

Pumpkin is one of the most popular ingredients to use during the fall season, both for its seasonal appeal and flavor and for the fact that it is healthy and low-fat. For example, pumpkins can be used as a substitute for more fattening ingredients in baked food items, like cakes and cupcakes. It also has a variety of health benefits, including omega-3 fats, improving prostate health and gut health, including zinc and magnesium, and being great for post-menopause and liver health.

7 Pumpkin Recipes For Fall

  1. Pumpkin Pancakes

Making pumpkin pancakes is super easy with this recipe from AllRecipes.com. All you need to do is mix the ingredients in a bowl, including canned pumpkin, milk, egg, and oil. Some dry ingredients include baking soda, baking powder, flour, and sugar. You will also need pumpkin spices like cinnamon and ginger. The pancakes themselves are cooked similarly to other pancakes.

  1. Pumpkin French Toast

Another breakfast recipe using pumpkin is this French toast bake from MinimimalistBaker.com. Instead of making French toast the traditional way, you will add the ingredients into a pan and bake it for about 40 minutes. This makes it easier to put together and doesn’t require you to spend a lot of time in front of the stove. Some ingredients used include pumpkin butter and pumpkin pie spice, nuts, brown sugar, bread, and eggs.

  1. Pumpkin Cookies

If you want to make pumpkin treats for Halloween or the fall season, consider making some cookies. Pumpkin cookies are great because they are actually quite healthy and low in fat, while also being delicious. These cookies are provided by Amy’s Healthy Baking and are made with pumpkin puree, cinnamon, nutmeg, whole wheat flour, and instant oats.

  1. Pumpkin Biscuits

Biscuits are great for many different meals and snacks, from a nice breakfast to be a side dish at lunch or dinner. With this recipe from AllRecipes.com, you can use pumpkin, flour, brown sugar, spices, and some other ingredients to make a quick batch of seasonal pumpkin spiced biscuits that are lower in fat than the standard buttery version.

  1. Pumpkin Hummus

Believe it or not, you can make healthy and yummy hummus by using pumpkin! Instead of canned pumpkin, it is recommended that you use fresh pumpkin for this recipe. You also will add ingredients like olive oil, cumin, garbanzo beans, maple syrup, and spices for the pumpkin-flavored hummus. You can also add some pumpkin seeds to the top for decoration and added flavor. This recipe is provided to you by DaringGourmet.com.

  1. Pumpkin Soup

Why not try some hearty and warm pumpkin soup on a chilly fall evening? This Minimalist Baker recipe calls for fresh pumpkin slices, maple syrup, coconut milk, vegetable stock, and seasonings. The longest part of this soup-making process is roasting the pumpkin, then the rest is quick and easy.

7. Soft Pumpkin Dog Treats

I was looking for some soft dog treats for my old chihuahua. I played around with the recipe and came up with the perfect combination. My dogs love it! They are easy to make a big batch and put some in the freezer so they won’t go bad. I just take a handful out at a time and use them up in a couple of days. I also took the lazy way out and I didn’t use a cookie cutter to make them now. I roll the dough out in a tin cookie sheet then use a pizza cutter to cut them into little 1 inch bites. Then I cook the dough. Works out great!

5 Make Memories With Family Ideas ~Doing Fun Activities Together!

5 Make Memories With Family Ideas

Let’s Make Some Memories!

One thing that you should always do with the family is to make memories that you can share. Doing family activities together bonds everyone because they share the same memory. It’s one of the very best things you can do with your kids. Here’s 5 make memories with family ideas that you can do together this month.

5 Family Activities to Do to Build Memories and Bond with Your Family

Looking for new and exciting activities you can do with the family? There are lots of ways you can enjoy quality family time together.

Whether you’re looking for indoor or outdoor activities, here you’ll discover 5 activities to do to build memories and bond with the family.

Take a day trip

A great way to build memories with the family is to take day trips together. You don’t need to travel far or spend a huge amount of money. You’ll find plenty of free activities available such as going to the park or a museum.

Exploring new places together is fun too. Just getting out of the house and doing something different can do the whole family a world of good. You may even find a favorite place you can return to time and time again. When your kids get older, they’ll look back fondly on the day trips you took together as a family.

Go camping for the weekend

Camping can be fun for the whole family. There’s plenty to do at the campground, and many campgrounds are close to places that you can visit together. Amusement parks always have a campground nearby.

Spend the day at the park, then finish the day off with roasting marshmallows by the fair. The kids will love it that the fun isn’t over after a day at the park. Spend the whole weekend and buy a weekend pass at the park to save money. This memory will last a lifetime. Make it special for the whole family.

5 Make Memories With Family Ideas

A board game night

Why not get back to basics and enjoy a fun-packed board game night? There are so many board games out there that you’re sure to find some the whole family can enjoy.

This also gives you a break from technology. Playing board games can be surprisingly fun, and kids love them. The only thing to be aware of here is whether any of the family is overly competitive. If they are, board games may not turn out to be quite the enjoyable activity you had in mind!

Play video games

If there’s one thing kids enjoy, it’s video games. However, it isn’t often the parents join in too. Playing together as a family is a great way to bond together.

Your kids will love having you join them in one of their favorite activities. You’ll learn new skills and may even find you enjoy it more than you thought you would. If you include activities that you know the kids enjoy, it’s going to be easier to tempt them to spend more time with you.

You could even invest in family-based video games to play together. Family trivia games are especially great for helping you to bond and create everlasting memories.

Scavenger hunts

Another super-fun idea is to organize a scavenger hunt. You can do this in your backyard if you have smaller children. Or, you could set one up in your local park.

You can pick up scavenger hunt kits online and then separate the family into two groups. You’ll have lots of fun trying to find the clues and eventually the hidden treasure. You might want to get a friend to set it up for you if you want the entire family to take part. Otherwise, you’re going to know where everything is if you were the one to hide the clues.

No matter what type of family activities you’re hoping to partake in, there’s sure to be an idea above to match your preferences. All of the activities mentioned are a great way to spend time together and bond with the family.

6 Daily Morning Rituals To Start Your Day With Joy And Happiness

6 Daily Morning Rituals To Start Your Day With Joy And Happiness

I know we are all super busy each day, but if we get up a little bit earlier each morning and start the day using one or all of these six daily morning rituals, your day will be filled with joy and happiness. It works for me.

Do you often find yourself in a funk? Or are you just looking for a few easy ways to boost your joy and happiness? Below are six daily rituals which can help change your mood for the better when you incorporate them into your daily life.

6 Daily Morning Rituals To Start Your Day With Joy And Happiness

Meditation

The benefits of meditation are simply endless. No matter how you are able to incorporate it in your life, whether its once a day for only a few minutes, or twice a day for an hour, meditation is sure to change your outlook on life. Not only that, but according to Healthline, meditation can help you to be physically healthier as well, as it lowers stress, blood pressure, and your chances of a heart attack. So do your best to incorporate this specific ritual into your day as frequently as possible.

Exercise

It’s no secret that when you feel better physically, that your mentality will follow. This is why you should try your best to work some form of exercise into your daily life. It doesn’t always have to be strenuous, as even some chores like vacuuming can get your heart racing enough to count as exercise. If you aren’t sure what to do, you can run, bike, go to the gym, or even walk around the block after dinner. Just try to get at least thirty minutes of time each day where your heart rate is elevated.

Practice Gratitude

Often times when you feel negative feelings, it’s because you have forgotten to practice gratefulness. After all, how many times have you sat back on your heels and simply looked at all  the things you have? Probably not nearly enough.

The best way to work gratitude into your daily ritual is by journaling each day about the things you are thankful for. Or if writing isn’t your strong point, you could also just make a list. Chances are you’ll be truly surprised by all the amazing things and people you have in your life.

Take Breaks

Many people overload themselves on their pursuit of happiness. And this is unfortunate because life is about the journey and not always just where you are headed. This is why it is important that you take breaks to enjoy yourself.

And you should do this on a daily basis, maybe even multiple times per day. Whatever you are doing, just take a moment to sit and relax, or maybe even use the time to engage in a hobby that you enjoy doing. You’ll find you’re much happier when you aren’t always on the go and forgetting to take care of yourself.

 Spend More Time With People

In this day and age, it’s not unlikely that you spend most of your day in front of a screen regardless of your profession. But this has led people to forget what truly matters in life, and that’s the amazing people in their lives.

Instead of spending all evening on your phone or watching TV, resolve to put down the device and spend quality time with those you love. If technology is too tempting for you, consider taking a walk with your significant other and leaving the device behind.

Daily Morning Rituals

Praying, Reading The Bible

If you’re a Christian, then reading the Bible and Praying should already be a daily thing for you. Over the past year I started doing just that, reading the Bible wasn’t something I’ve ever done in the past, just when I went to church.

This past year I started a list of people to pray for and I pray for them, I pray for help through the day, projects that I’m working on in my business. That’s what started me on a whole new carrier path, one with God in my life.

I have to tell you it was the very best thing I’ve ever done. Many of my prayers were answered. I’ve read half of the Bible so far. My business is doing fantastic, I’m feeling blessed that I tried again only this time with God.

What Is A Simple Morning Ritual?

It’s just setting aside a special time in the morning for yourself. A time to reflect and be grateful for the things you have, the air you are breathing, the water that is freely given to us, the sun that shines down on us. Start a journal and write down these glorious things and be thankful for them.

Overall, if you’re looking for some easy ways to incorporate more joy and happiness into your life, you should definitely start with the items on this list. But don’t forget that happiness is a choice, and that no one else is responsible for your happiness. So, in order to boost yours, it’s time to take control of your life and start doing the things which make you happy today.

I hope these 6 daily morning rituals has given you some ideas on how you can start your day filled with joy and happiness.
